“Stranded Ship” is a video installation featuring a grounded ship resting upon an unnamed shore, defying perspective with its steadfast stance against a tilted horizon. Layered sounds of waves and wind envelop the voices of people, which, displaced from their original sound timeline, emerge at three distinct moments speaking different languages. Their speech merges with the soothing and engulfing sound of the sea, blurring the lines between human communication and the natural world, until they become indistinguishable from the ebb and flow of waves or the continuous creak of some forgotten metal object swaying in the wind.
